How This LAT Mock Test Works

This LAT mock test runs in your browser, on a phone or a computer. You choose how much of the real test you want to practise.
- Pick a mode. The Full LAT mock is 140 minutes with both parts. MCQs only is Part I alone, 75 questions in 100 minutes.
- The timer runs like the real test. If you close the page, your answers stay saved in your browser and the clock keeps going. When time ends, the paper is submitted for you.
- Move around freely. Jump between subjects, flag a question to come back to, and use the question map to see what is left.
- Retakes stay honest. The options are shuffled every time you start, so a second attempt is not a memory test.
- See every mistake. After you submit, each question shows the right answer in green, your wrong answer in red, and a short explanation. Maths answers also show the formula.
LAT Paper Pattern Used in This Practice Test
This LAT practice test copies HEC’s LAT content weightages: the same subjects, the same number of questions and the same time.
| Part | Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part I | English | 20 MCQs | 20 |
| Part I | General Knowledge | 20 MCQs | 20 |
| Part I | Pakistan Studies | 10 MCQs | 10 |
| Part I | Islamiat | 10 MCQs | 10 |
| Part I | Mathematics | 5 MCQs | 5 |
| Part I | Urdu | 10 MCQs | 10 |
| Part II | Essay (1 of 3 topics, English or Urdu) | 1 task | 15 |
| Part II | Personal statement (English or Urdu) | 1 task | 10 |
| Total | 75 MCQs + 2 tasks | 100 |

Part I gets 100 minutes for all 75 MCQs. Part II gets 40 minutes for the essay and personal statement together. Source: HEC LAT content weightages.
Urdu questions appear in Urdu script, right to left, just as they do on the paper.
How to Read Your LAT Mock Test Score
Your LAT mock test result shows a score out of 75, because only the MCQs can be marked on screen. The real LAT is out of 100. HEC examiners mark the essay and the personal statement by hand.
HEC requires at least 50% in LAT, that is 50 out of 100, for admission to LLB (HEC LLB curriculum). So “can you score 50?” depends on both parts. This table shows the simple sum:
| If you get this in Part II (out of 25) | You need this many MCQs right (out of 75) |
|---|---|
| 10 | 40 |
| 12 | 38 |
| 15 | 35 |
| 18 | 32 |

These are sums, not predictions. Aim well above the line, because 50 is the minimum LAT requirement, not a promise of a seat.
Then look at the subject table. Start with your lowest subject; the result screen names it and links to its practice page.
Essay and Personal Statement Practice (Part II)
In the full LAT mock test, Part II opens after the MCQs. You choose one of three essay topics and then write a personal statement. You can write both in English or in Urdu. Tap “اردو” above the writing box and it switches to right-to-left.
A word counter runs as you type. HEC’s advertisement for LAT 2026 sets a maximum of 200 words for each task, so the counter turns red if you go over.
After you submit, check your essay against HEC’s essay marking weights:
| What examiners look at | Weight |
|---|---|
| Relevance and creativity | 30% |
| Coherence | 20% |
| Vocabulary and grammar | 20% |
| Introduction | 15% |
| Conclusion | 15% |

Relevance carries the most weight, so stay on the topic you chose. HEC has also published a sample essay and a sample personal statement. For step-by-step help, read our guides on the LAT personal statement and LAT essay topics.

7 Tips to Get More From Every LAT Practice Test

- Sit it in one go. Put your phone on silent and treat the timer as real. A paused mock teaches you nothing about speed.
- Do the full 140 minutes at least once. Writing an essay after 100 minutes of MCQs is harder than it sounds. Stamina is part of the test.
- Attempt every question. This mock does not cut marks for wrong answers. HEC’s published pattern does not mention negative marking either, but follow the instructions on your own paper on test day.
- Flag, don’t freeze. 75 questions in 100 minutes is about 80 seconds each. If a question takes longer, flag it and come back.
- Review the same day. Read the explanation for every wrong answer and write the fact in a notebook.
- Fix your weakest subject, then retake. Practise that subject’s page, then take the LAT mock test again. The options will be in a new order.
- Write Part II by hand once. On test day HEC asks you to bring a clipboard and a black or blue ball pen, so practise your essay on paper too.
